The way I explore movement is through contemporary dance and improvisation combined with Caribbean dance, all with a feminist and decolonial perspective. Through the use of memory, somatic movement, and instant composition, I will share part of my research and dance practice. In particular, I would focus on the stereotype of the “Superwoman Syndrome”, the “Strong Black Woman” and the “Loser”.
This workshop invites Womxn, especially Bipoc, to experience dance, imagining the freedom, joy and autonomy of their body, with no need to show the powers and no need to be magic.
