Ahmed Soura will introduce the participants to various traditional dances from the villages of Burkina Faso (West Africa). Among them are dances of the ethnic groups Gouroussi, Turka, Fulfulde, Gourrmatchéma, Warba or Samo. In the further course, he will work out together with the participants how traditional dances can be integrated into African Contemporary Dance by means of smaller choreographies. Powerful rhythms and varied tempos mix with the joie de vivre of Burkina Faso. African Contemporary Dance combines contemporary and traditional styles, but also includes street, mask and modern dance.
