Khadidiatou Rachel Bangoura is from Liberia and Guinea. She was born and raised in France and grew up in Germany. After a BA in International Relations and Development Studies and an MA in African Studies in London, she graduated in Contemporary Dance from Danceworks Berlin in October 2017.
In November 2016 she performed her first solo “The heart is a muscle” at ‘10×6 Festival’ in Berlin. Choreographers and ensembles she has worked with include: Jan Pusch, Okwui Okpokwasili, Thomas Kopp (kollektiv anderer Tanz),Ester Ambrosino (Tanztheater Erfurt), Rafaële Giovanola (Coccon Dance), Lin Verleger (Comedia Theater Köln) & Ives Thuwis-De Leeuw (Junges Ensemble Stuttgart).
Her own choreographic work for 10 dancers, “Adult-ish”, was performed at the ada studio in Berlin in May 2017 and at the Werkstatt der Kulturen in July 2017. Further choreographic works include ‘Hey Stranger’ (2017) ‘fight,flight,freeze’ (June 2020) and “Moving Structures -Part I” (December 2020). The deconstruction and analysis of (interpersonal) relationships is at the center of her choreographic work, which seeks to leave audiences moved, questioning themselves and their surroundings, and encouraged to engage in self-reflection.
