Avemê means forest and ceremony at the same time: rituals are performed, with dance movements, rhythms that speak from the drums!
This workshop focuses on traditional West African dances based on the power of ritual rhythms and pays special attention to the participants’ own bodies: they will have the opportunity to learn the specific movements and techniques of some traditional dances in order to develop their own body language. Through small stories, the historical background of the dance languages entered and their meaning is also conveyed.
Issiaka Moussa’s workshops are like a journey through Africa. He uses the elements of African dance and his dance technique to make the history of Africa tangible and alive.
