Naledi Majola (they/he/she) is a South African artist-researcher based in Berlin. They studied drama and performance at the University of Cape Town in 2017, and solo/dance/authorship at HZT Berlin. Their practice navigates Black histories and contemporary socio-political questions with decisive uncertainty, using movement, voice practice, writing, and sound.
Their solo performance, “Where is the Black Samurai?” debuted at Arcade2018 and was also performed at the Institute for Creative Arts (ICA) Live Art Festival 2018 and UIRTUS, a public performance, debuted at the ICA Infecting the City Public Art Festival 2019 – all in Cape Town, South Africa. Their latest solo, “In flux”, premiered at Uferstudios, Berlin in 2023 and was subsequently presented at the Revolve Festival in Uppsala, Sweden in May 2024.
Naledi has also created work in partnership with artist, Andi Colombo as Grouping and Ungrouping Forever. They have also designed sound for various performances.
