Jonathan Kotey Nikoi is a dancer and teacher, born and raised in Accra Ghana, He completed Help Your Child high school in 1999, and he later joined the Akomapa Culture Group, which happened to be his first dance group, where he received informal dance training in Traditional Ghanaian dances, he later had the opportunity in 2003 to tour with the group in Deutschland.
Mr Nikoi then enrolled in Noyam African Dance Institute in 2006 directed by Prof.Nii Yartey, for a formal dance education in Traditional African and contemporary dance.
He also got exposed through Noyom to various dance styles from renowned teachers from Africa, Europe, the US, etc.
Nikoi has travelled with the Noyam dance company to various dance festivals, like the Fontys Dance Festival (Tilburg the Netherlands), and Multi-Cultural Festival (Burkina Faso -Koudougou), He has also performed with Noyam on different occasions including the opening of the flagstaff house now Jubilee house in Accra Ghana, Spirit of Dance, Sochenda, etc, additionally as a teaching assistant with Noyam at Ashesi University.
Nikoi has worked (2017) in a residency of creation with the Kuyum Art Investigations on a dance piece called “Dance the Time” performed at the Alliance Francaise in Accra, Ghana.
