Natalie Riedelsheimer studied contemporary dance in Berlin and has been working as a dancer, choreographer and dance teacher in Berlin’s freelance scene since 2010. Since then she has also been part of the dance collective Grupo Oito, which, in addition to numerous successful premieres in Berlin (Ballhaus Naunynstraße, HAU, OYUN, Tanzfabrik, Englisches Theater, HALLE – TANZBÜHNE Berlin, Gropius Bau) and guest performances in France, Turkey and Kenya, offers various artistic and educational formats and has become an important part of Berlin’s cultural landscape since 2006. In this constellation, Natalie has not only gained a lot of experience as a dancer, but also in collective work, artistic conception, production and organisation of dance productions.
Since 2016, she has been developing the performance concept “A Machine to Become” with Caroline Alves and Nora Haakh, which uses artistic means to critically explore ideas and concepts about being a woman and femininity. Since then, she has received several grants and scholarships in which she has researched feminism in dance, rituals, feminist spirituality, witches and the representation of female archetypes.
