Yvonne Sembene is a French-Senegalese dance maker and critical observer. She lives in Berlin. Her practice focuses on contemporary identities and their colonial influences in European and German contexts, as well as decolonial feminist discourses.

In 2023 she was particularly interested in German identities and white ethno-nationalism, emerging artists and accessibility. Alongside her artistic work, she is often invited to speak at local cultural policy discussions in labs and exchange formats. She also supports other artists in understanding their work in a socio-cultural context.
