The focus of this workshop is on neo-African dance as well as popular-commercial Afro dance styles. The technical orientations to these styles are the core values of traditional African dance movements: Very organic, earthy, grounded/cornered movement forms in structure, very groovy and undulating in execution. The style uses various elements such as: slow and fast movement approaches, high energy and varied dynamic balance, polyrhythmic/complex movement patterns as well as compatible elements from western experimental contemporary dance.
