Yahi Nestor Gahé, born in 1979 in Côte d’Ivoire, is an interdisciplinary artist. He trained in dance at the École nationale de théâtre et de danse à l’INSAAC in Abidjan, studied the conception of art and cultural projects at the University of Strasbourg and trained in dance pedagogy at the Off-Theatre Academy in Düsseldorf. Since 2009, he has been living and working in Germany and internationally as a choreographer, dancer and dance teacher. He also has experience in theatre and puppetry. Rooted in African, modern and contemporary dance, he also works in theatre. In his works he deals with the diverse problems of today’s world, integrating various stylistic elements from dance and theatre addiction and developing a unique choreographic language for each piece.
