Daphne Brunet

Daphne Brunet holds a B.A. in Film Production from the City University of New York, Brooklyn College, where she designed a personalized curriculum titled The Moving Image and the Shaping of Social Identity through the CUNY Baccalaureate for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies. Her further training includes certification as a circus educator from the Circus Akademie Berlin (2014–2015), studies in Physical Theatre at Mime Centrum Berlin (2018 and 2019), and ongoing practice in dance, aerial, and floor acrobatics through various workshops and courses.

She uses her background as a filmmaker, circus educator, and performing artist to create participatory, somatic experiences that engage with social and political themes. She has served as a creative director and co-curator of intergenerational, political arts and performance events such as O-Platz Familienfest and the Festival Freedom of Movement at CABUWAZI Tempelhof (Berlin), and has performed and collaborated in various productions. Her work explores collective experiences that shape cultural and social identities, often emphasizing community-building, artistic expression, and critical reflection.

Daphne is excited to join the Kuyumarts team this year in the cooperations department, working to help grow Kuyumarts within Berlin’s intergenerational diaspora community.
