L-Movement – Experimental dance production by Yahi Nestor Gahé
In L-Movement the choreography explores the social, societal and political function of laughter. In the piece, three dancers* from very different backgrounds also perform with their own laughter, which, together with the composition by Matthias Schneider-Hollek, forms the sound and musical ‘carpet’ on which the choreography develops. Through the stage and the directing approach of Dorothea Lanz, not only the spatial view of the dancers is initiated, but the thought is directed to the dialogical substance of laughter.
Directly after the performances in the theater, the team, extended by two more dancers and another musician, shows an adaptation of the piece for public space. Following a 30-minute presentation, there will be both a conversation and an interactive short mediation in exchange with the audience, as the dancers and choreographer guide the audience to investigate their own physical laughter movement. Comical, funny moments will arise as well as a conscious perception of one’s own physicality.
