Kossi Sebastien Aholou-Wokawui

Born November 24 in Lomé, Togo, Kossi Sebastien trained in traditional and contemporary African dance and modern dance as well as jazz dance 2000-2005 at Cie Woenyo, Cie Sojaf and Brin de Chocolat.

In his dance career, he pursued many professional collaborations as a dance teacher, including at the University of Lomé, as well as at the French School and the Traditional Ballet of Lomé, Togo.

In 2006, he choreographed several dance productions presented in Togo, Benin, Mali, Ghana, Germany and Denmark. He participated in training projects with Stephanie Tiersch (Germany) and Alexandre Castres (France), among others, and was partly at the Ecole des Sables in Touba-Dialaw in Senegal for advanced training with Germaine Acogny and other choreographers such as: Gilles Jobin, Bud Blumenthal, Tayeb Benamara, Dom-K, Patrick Acogny.

In 2013, he was a teacher of a dance workshop program at the National Theater of Haiti and in other dance schools such as Centre de danse Jean Reré Delsoin, Festival d’Aquin and Écoles du Sud Caye.

In 2014, Kossi conducted a major training and creation project with dancers and choreographers in Togo, supported by the Togo Culture Aid Fund.

From 2012 to 2019 he collaborated with Steptext dance project and danced in many productions of Helge Letonja at home and abroad like Johannesburg, Durban, Montreal, Catania, Senegal…. In 2018 he created a duet piece with choreographer Tomas Bünger titled IN THE SKIN OF THE OTHER, which was performed in Dhaka-Bangladesh, Lomé-Togo and Bremen. Within the framework of various collaborations and creates transcultural dance theater projects for young people.

From 2019 until today he is a member of the company Of Curious Nature; he worked with different choreographers like: Felix Landerer, Helge Letonja, Samir Calixto, Tomas Bünger.
